2005 Pontiac Sunbird The Abiss

Long story short... some semi-valuable items fell into my windshield vent on my 05 Pontiac Sunfire. After changing the vent selection dial I heard said items drop to a chamber below. How may I access the chamber in order to retrieve said items and what is the best way to go about it?

The only thing you can do is take apart the HVAC vent / duct assembly under the dash.
