I am trying to finde step by step instructions on how to repair/replace the engins head gasket

best thing for you is to buy a repair manual, but i can sum most of it up for you.

first you should remove the intake manifold, leave the throttle body on it, once the intake manifold is off, then remove the valve covers then unbolt the heads. remove and clean the mating surfaces, install a new one, installation is the reverse.
