The engine light on. Not sure what the code was, but my husband was a mechanic for 40 years and said it needed a new ECM Module. I'd like to sell the car, but am not sure whether I should spend the money to replace the ECM or just try to sell it without replacing the item. Is it worth fixing before selling it?

Hi,

Is the vehicle still running? Also, if it only has 81K miles, it should still hold a good value. If the vehicle is in good condition, I would likely repair it to get as much as possible for it. With a known issue such as an ECM, it may scare people away.

Let me know.

Take care,

joe

Thank you. I am currently getting estimates on what the repair might cost and will move forward from there. I'll keep you updated on what happens.
