Pontiac GrandAm 2001 w/ 120,000 miles

I was pulling off from a red light, making a turn and i saw smoke from the stering collum. Just a little and it only lasted a few seconds. It smelt like powder from the air bags. What does that mean? I'm afraid my air bag is just going to go off for no reason while I'm driving.

THis is deffentily something you do not want to wait on, have your car checked out right away, this has something to do with the air bags, mabye the air bag sensor was lose and you it ingauged the sensor paritly, not sure - have it checked out tho right away
