Here's the symtoms/problem:
1. Very little heat coming from the vents at idle or low RPM after car is at operating temperature.
Normal heat (or close) when operating at higher RPM's
2. Engine is operating in the normal temperature range. (Not too cold or too hot)
3. Was about 1/2 gallon low on anti freeze. (Replaced to required level)
4. While engine was operating at various RPM's could not see movement of water when viewing in the radiator cap.
5. Oil does not appear to be contaminated and have not smelled or seen coolent coming from the exhaust.

You might want to let the car get up to normal pressure and squeeze the top radiator hose slightly. You should feel some pressure if your water pump is working good. Another thing you could try before replacing the water pump is to remove the thermostat. Put the housing and hoses back on. And then run the engine and see if you have pressure or visual flow of coolant. If you dont see or feel any movement from the coolant. Chances are you need a new water pump. You could also check the thermostat by dropping it in some hot water on the stove while you have it out. If the thermostat dont open. You need to replace that also.
