My car for the last couple of weeks, has stalled twice while driving it. Now, this morning, when I turned it over, nothing happened, not even the battery light came on. My car is old, but it is well-maintained.

Get the battery/alternator load tested. This will tell if both are working-you might have an electrical short that's draining the battery-who knows-preventing it from powering the ignition switch and to crank the engine.
