No spark from the ignition coil. Have new coil and coil wire. If the timeing is off would you still get spark from the coil?

What you need to do is look for power at the positive terminal of the coil key in run-do you have it ? If not check the resistance wire-if okay-try re-adjusting the ignition contact points.
Yes you can get spark even if the timing is off. but it will never start unless the valve and igniton timing is correct.
