2004 Pontiac Montana gas guages

My gas gauge is broken. I have to take it for emission test. Will that cause it to fail the emission test?

I see no reason why it should, although you may run out of gas before you get there :).

Either the gauge itself or sender in tank is bad, this would have no effect on emmissions.
