i'm having trouble with my ABS system. can it be disconnected until I can get it fixed ? if so, how?

yes bob it can.just unplug the abs module under the hood. let me guess, when coming to a stop the abs is activating and making it near impossible to stop. also you can unplug the big abs fuse in underhood junction block. with abs disabled you will still have conventional brakes and is safe to drive. hope this helps
