The cooling system is vapor locked. We have been burping the system, but seems to never clear all the air. There is also white smoke in the exhaust. No odor from exhaust and oil looks clean. So is there something other then the head gasket that can cause white exhaust, and how would I go about verifying that the problem is or is not the head gasket for sure?

no, a head gasket has to be the problem, also you can have the system pressure checked, to determing if it is a head gasket
