A year ago, code 0131 (O2 sensor low volts bank 1 sensor 1) and 0137 (. Bank 1 sensor 2)appeared intermittently. I had rear O2 sensor replaced. Both codes returned a couple of months later. I got a Scanguage to read and clear them. They re-appear every few weeks. Ive been clearing and ignoring them. They usually appear upon moderate acceleration from a parkway toll booth. No engine symptoms at all.

Just got codes 0131, 0137, and 1404 (EGR valve pintel stuck open) upon leaving a toll booth. They cleared OK. Still no engine symptoms, it runs fine.

All codes related? Is this a necessary fix - by replacing EGR and front O2. Something else going on?
Thanks, Ron

The O2 sensor may be failing due to the faulty EGR valve. You also need to have the cat. Converter flow tested to ensure it is working properly as a faulty converter will also throw an O2 sensor code on the computer. Both components will cause poor fuel mileage and fail emissions test if required by state law.
