1997 Pontiac Montana turn siganal

1997 Pontiac Montana 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive

On my 97 montana the left turn signal works when the headlights are off but the display lights in the interior flash. But with the headlights on the left signal does not work. I've changed both front and rear bulbs. There is no problem with the right signal. What could be the problem?

check for faulty ground wire at that specific signal assembly
