1988 Pontiac Lemans 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive

I need to locate the fuel float, because it is stuck at empty right now. How do you find it, do I need to drop the fuel tank or can I just locate it in the back seat?

You probably don't want to hear it, but the tank has to come out to get to it. Be careful, the fuel pump is part of the assembly.
