Frontend noise on 2003 3.1L Grand Prix

I have frontend noise that sounds like a thump or knock when I am moving slow like 5 or 10 mph. When I speed up I cannot hear any noise and the
car runs fine otherwise. I had merchanic check it and he said he thinks that it's coming from transmission. The car has about 153k
miles. Can you tell me what this might be.
