My mother has a 1994 pontiac grand prix 127,000 miles 2-door. She was having problems closing and opening her door. So she moved the latch inside the door now it is stuck and the door won't close because the latch won't come back to the right spot and won't line up with the door. If I take apart the door will there be something I can do to make it go back to it's normal position. Please help because I did it to the other door went to see what it was supposed to look like and she didn't tell me not to touch it. So know both of them won't close. Please help I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

I dont really understand your issue but it sounds like the gearing inside the door is messed up. wht do you mean, moved the latch inside?

Is a little hard to understand the full problem and this might sound silly but if you pushed the latch and it locked with the door open try holding the handle like you are opening the door. put something in the latch and pull back to reopen the latch. It will not open once latched by itself.
