I have 179,000 miles on my Grand Prix and I just got my brakes replaced. Two days later they went out on me as I was going down a hill. They started smoking and squeaking. My friend, a mechanic, says he thinks it's okay to keep driving the car, I disagree. What could the problem be?

Sounds like the caliper is not retracting might be a corroded piston inside or the brake hose is acting like a check valve or the master cylinder itself
