I want to replace the car stereo in a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix. In order to do so, I must remove the black plastic ring that surrounds the key ignition switch. This in turn allows me to remove the plastic dash and thus the car stereo. The problem is I don't want to damage the the ignition or the black plastic ring. Does anyone know how to remove this without damaging it? I used a plastic wedge to try to pop it out but it didn't appear to want to go "nicely" and so I stopped and am doing more research. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello
Thanks for the donation

In order to remove the instrument panel accessory trim plate you will need to use a plastic trim tool. This will allow you to remove the ignition switch bezel which you speak off. You can find this tool at most part stores and tool stores.
