My wife's Grand Prix trans started slipping every now and then after getting her trans fluid changed. We bought the car with 70,000 miles on it in great condition.

I don't recal if we have ever changed the fluid before now.

Is it normal for this to happen for a short time after changing fluid?

It's definitely not normal. You need to check your tranny's fluid level first. They may have failed to fill it to the proper level. Also, check for a trans leak anywhere on the ground. (They may have messed something up)

Also, they could've screwed something up inside the trans.

After checking for levels/leaks, take your trans back to the shop and demand they find out why and fix it. It's doubtful they'll take the blame for your issue, but you won't know until you ask. Then you're only recourse will be a legal one. (Take them to court)
