2004 Pontiac Grand Prix the air and heat will not come on

I was wondering if you could help. The air and heat will not come on. It will every once in a while if I hit a bump just right, it will come on for a couple of mins then go off. Is this a common problem with pontiacs? Any help would be great, thanks
