2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP: When I come to stop sign/light, my engine clunks, like something is shifting forward. Could this be my engine mounts, or do you think it could be something else? I have been reading online about the stearing shaft being bad on these cars..could that be the problem?

Check mounts first, you may have a collapsed/weak mount.

Another possibility is the TCC solenoid is not disengaging proberly, this locks convertor to save gas and should disengage when brake pedal is pushed.
