I was told that my intake manifold gaskets were blown. My first question is this the same as head gaskets? And, is it worth the trouble to just replace the whole engine if I only had the car for a year and it is going to cost 1700 to fix?

Hi
Intake gasket should be more like $400 and no taht is not a head gasket now that would be more like $1700. What is the problem?
