2003 Pontiac Grand Prix ignition key

Tried to turn of the car and the key won't come out of the ignition. It seems to get stuck and I can't turn it all the way off.

Should have a link between the shifter and the ignition switch to prevent the key removal when shifter is engaged

Try again and again the shifter all the way down and back to park
have to check and adjust or replace if needed
