2003 Pontiac Grand Prix engine cutting out

2003 Pontiac Grand Prix 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 108k miles

03 Pontiac GP SE with a 3.1. When first started it runs fine, but after a few minutes the RPM starts to flucatuate and it starts cutting out and will stall. If I let it sit for awhile it will start fine again and do the same thing after driving about a mile. It seems to be worse when giving it gas. It isn't posting any codes. I'm thinking its possibly a crank shaft or cam shaft position sensor. Any ideas or strategies for troubleshooting this? Thanks for the help

Check fuel pressure with a mechanical gauge, if OK then I would suspect the ignition module under the coil pack.

The ign. Module can be checked at most autoparts stores for free.
