I have a service engine soon light showing. In the past it has come on and from reading the owners manuel it states that the steady light on would indicate that an emission problem is occuring. But to maybe tighten the gas cap or that I may have used a water downed gas, to only put in a couple of tanks of good clean gas and the light should turn off. I have put in approximately 4 or 5 tanks of quality gas and the light still registers. The manuel indicates that if this doesn't get repaired that it could lead to some serious problems. What kind of problems would there be and what can I do to fix the issue as well as an estimate on the possible repairs. It would be a great help and I thank you very much.
