The Traction control light and the ABS light comes on just driving, I turn the car off, and it re-sets the computer. Sometimes it stays off, and sometimes it will stay on even after I turn the car off and re-set it. What is the problem with this, and does anybody know the solution.

Hi
I have a 2000 grand prix gt and the same thing happened to me 2 or 3 years ago. I was told it's a sensor in one of my wheels that controls the abs. I was told that I was looking at 75-100 bucks to hook it up to the diagnostic machine to find out which wheel it was, 400-500 bucks for the sensor, plus labour to install it. The mechanic told me to not worry about it because I still have brakes just not anti-lock brakes. I have yet to repair it and never had a brake problem. Knock on wood. Hope this helps

Hi, I had the same problem in my 2001 GP. It turned out that the wiring harness to the wheel sensor was somewhat chewed-up. It cant be spliced or repaired so a replacement is necassary. The harness, sensor and wheel hub are one integral unit. The hub unit needed to be replaced. I believe the whole job costed me under $400.
