My car is in the repair shop for transmission shifting problems. The mechanic called and said that the transmission needed a valve and that the catalytic converter was bad. The transmission fix will cost around $900, but the catalytic converter is convered under warranty. Please tell me this is right about the converter. My records show that the converter is only covered for 8 years or 80,000 miles.

Well if he is going to replace it for free, have him do it as long as you get it in writing.

But I agree with you, Federal law warrants the convertor for 8/80.
