My car shakes horrible when i press on the gas and then when i let off, it is a little better but still shakes. Ive been told before i need new motor mounts. Can i fix this myslef. A friend told me i could weld in place of broken mount so my engine wont shake anymore. Is this true because my boyfriend is a welder?

Hi there,

If this problem is a broken engine mount, replace it with a new one, if you try to weld a solid mount up it will be so bad that it will shake out your fillings, fix it correctly.

The extra vibration will damage other mounts and fittings, it's up to you, but i would fix it now or pay more later when something else fails because of the vibration, just get it inspected first to make sure that this is your problem in the first place.
