2000 Pontiac Grand Prix shifts hard

I have a grand pre and everytime I drive it for about an hour it all the sudden starts shifting really hard I have tried to figure it out but I had no luck could you please help me

Get a transmission filter kit and change the trans. Filter and add fluid to refill. Check the old fluid and bottom of pan for any metal particles.

You may have some debris in valve body causing excessive pressure.

If problem persists, then take to trans. Shop for a more definitive diagnosis.
