2000 Pontiac Grand Prix rattle noise from engine when NOT r

I hear a rattle noise from the engine when I run the comfort system on anything BUT AC or defrost. Does not matter what fan speed I select. Turn on economy and select vents, heater and engine makes tinging/rattle noise. Then when I select AC the noise stops. Fan speed lo or hi makes no difference.

Check to see if the fan clutch is tight. WHen you turn the AC or defroster on, it engages. When they are off, it is disengaged.
