Pontiac 2000 Grand Prix GT, 172000 miles. The "P" parking light indicator on the dashboard stays on after the car is shut down. Will this drain the battery? Also, high beam light indicator stays on whether or not the high beam lights are turned on. Headlights also turn on automatically when the ignition key is turned to the on position. Just bought the card used and am concerned about major electrical issues that I won't be able to afford.

You will have to remove the Instrument Panel cluster and check the circuit board.
Not an easy job.

When the key is turned off it should cut power to everything except radio and PCM.
