Our 2000 grand prix was working fine until we got back from a road trip. the next day it wouldnt move, it was like it was in neutral. Let it idle for a while and then it seemed to be ok. But ever since it has been giving us problems. sometimes it has the same symptoms, other times it goes into gear no problem but has little or no power. it will just rev up but no acceleration. I had a friend tell me it sounds like the shifter cable needs to be replaced and someone else said it sounds like the transmission is going. Can someone give me some insight on this?
