about 3500 miles ago, got an oil change and ever since the low oil light has been on. just got another oil change at valvoline yesterday, and the light is still on. the car runs just fine. i would think if the oil pump was broken or something and the engine wasnt getting oil circulation i would know after 3500 miles right? should i take it in?

Most likely the sender, then may have broken the connector when changing oil first time.

Take back and have sender inspected, if OK then have oil pressure checked with mechanical gauge.
