Engine Performance problem
2000 Pontiac Grand Prix 6 cyl Automatic 120000 miles

I recently ran out of gas completely and when I put 3 gallons of gas in it,it wouldn't start. I was wondering if this is probably just a clogged fuel filter or possibly my fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator may have gotten damaged by not being properly maintained by the previous owner because I only bought the car two months ago.

Welcome to the forum, check fuel pressure, use a gage. Some of the national brand autostores will loan out a fuel pressure gage, if you don't have one. You can call them and ask?

Usually when I get a different vehicle, I give it a tune-up, change oil and filter, check everything I can think of.
