1999 Pontiac Grand Prix Gas Gauge Malfunction

When car first started, gas gauge goes to full. After about three minutes it goes down to empty. It's been acting up for about two months. Clock lights do not come on.

It is either gauge or sender in tank. Dealer can test gauge, but if sender, you will have to replace entire pump assy.
