we had a sleet mix yesterday and my wipers syoped working. i pulled into a gas station and it looked like ice and snow built up and froze over so yhe blades wernt ablr to go down all the way. so i removed the iced over junk in the wells and all around the arms and cams. well while doing this the drivers side arm moved a few inches, i thought maybe it broke and tried to put it back into place. well they come on and work now, however they stay in a upright position. then when the car is off they return home. whats up with that?

The wiper arms are bolted to a splined gear on the wiper transmission (under cowl).

Remove wiper arms and inspect the splines, if OK then you may have bent one of the arms on the transmission. Remove plastic cowl and inspect it.
