1998 Pontiac Grand Prix Weindsheild Wipers

Whenever I turn my wipers on they work pretty well, but when I turn them off the go straight up. I read somewhere that it could be because water gets into the motor assembly and freezes. Could this be the problem? and if so how do I fix it?

You would have to take motor out and inspect connections and wiper transmission. Check for any binding.

Motor is on firewall.
