1996 Pontiac Grand Prix Serpintine belt

1996 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX

Tried replacing belt but unable to move tensioner.
Followed haynes manual but unable to break loose to release tension. Is there a trick to it.

Please help.

Try and put tension on the belt as u watching the tensioner
it should move and when u let go it should return if not the tensioner is no good and need to have it replaced as well
