Engine Performance problem
1994 Pontiac Grand Prix 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

Is this a common problem with older cars? I was going down the road and all of a sudden the engine started die. I pressed on the gas and it was hardly moving. I checked the steering and brake fluid and they were full. I saw on the front drivers side a fluid in the wheel well. It wasnt oily because it evvaporated quickly so I figure gas. I smelled the gas too. Had it towed and the repair cost was 480.00. Should I have tried to just clean them? Should I have checked something else? I havent got the car back yet, but he said the other 4 are bad too. Just need some input on did I do the right thing or shoulld I have done something else first

There are companies that test fuel injectors, flow and operation for about $25 each.

Look for "fuel injection service" in Yellow Pages.
