i have a 1990 grand prix and it ran before i got it but it quit runing for the previous owner so i bought it for a low price, anyways it will start and idle but barely, i thought it may be the fuel pump but it has a new fuel pump in it, and when i start to give it gas it increases rpm's very little and quits.

Welcome to the forum, how long since a tune-up? Use a gage and check fuel pressure. Check for trouble codes. If there are any? If you use a jumper wire between A & B terminals of the datalink connector, turn key on, no crank, the check engine lite starts flashing, you count the flashes to get the codes.
