I have a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am with approx 44,000
miles on it. It is the GT model and has the 6 cylinder engine and automatic transmission. When I start the car in the morning and put it into drive and move forward I get warning lights of "Service vehicle soon, Traction control and Abs. If I turn the engine off and then restart the engine, put the transmission in drive and wait approx 5 seconds before moving forward the lights will not come on. This happens if the car has been unused for several hours or overnight. Occasionally it will happen when I have been driving the car for a while and get back in after a short period of time. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

You probably have a wheel speed sensor going bad. The speed sensors need to be monitored with a scanner to see which one is dropping out.

Each sensor sends a signal to the computer, when one drops out the computer doesn't like that it is getting no speed readings and throws the lights.
