I have a 1994 Pontiac Grand AM quad-4 w/169,000 miles. When I turn on high beams then turn them off I loose my headlights completly. I need to know "how to change the turn signal switch, and what it consists off ? "

it sounds like you need a dimmer switch. the dimmer switch is located on the left side of the steering column. When you change it from low to high beams you can hear it click. with a test light check the lines comming out of the switch. One wire will have current when the low beams are on and one when the high beams are on. If the switch is working ok then check the headlight relays. they are under the hood with main fuse panel
