Grand Am won't start

1995 Grand Am GT 6 cylinder 120,000 miles. Would not start, but did turn over. Replaced starter (starter was bad). Now engine won't turn over. Tried shifting to neutral and starting -- same problem so I ruled out safety neutral switch. How about a starter solenoid or an ignition switch or even a ground problem?

Double check your work
Did you put the wires back where they belong?
On the starter
Do you have a security light on?
Try different key
