Computer problem
2004 Pontiac Grand Am 4 cyl Automatic 89000 miles

my car has done this since weve had it , about 3 years now, about once a month for a few days, if you hesitate while starting the ignition the car wont start and you have to leave the key in the "on" position for 14 minutes and then the car will start. I've been told it's a security issue. Maybe the car thinks someone is steeling it?? it happens without warning and will do this several times once it happens then you can go for a month or more with out any problem. what could cause this?

Could be the security system issue on the theft deterrent control module or the exciter module
