I have an 04 Grand AM GT 3400. It has been running great except this afternoon I went to start it and nothing happened. The dash lights and the headlamps came on, but not the radio. I could hear the radio swithching on but no lights or music. I could also hear the solenoid making a sound but no clicks from the starter. I jumped it and nothing changed. I also touched the solenoid and the car cranked over but never caught on. Do I just need to replace the starter and solenoid? Thank you.

Remove the starter and have it tested at most autoparts stores for free.

If OK, the have the battery tested (also free), if battery is bad, you will also need to check the alternator (free again).
