2004 Pontiac Grand Am noisy engine on start up

Engine is noisy on start up, as if lifters are bad, replaced lifters, noise is still there on start up, noise stops after 45 seconds. It makes this noise on each start up, what can this be, need help

Various thoughts on this. The 3.4s tend to be a little ticky.

This may be a case of piston slap.
There have been upgraded pistons with a teflon coating used.

Another possiblility is a bad cam, but I would expect the noise to stop.

I have heard of some shops going to a synthethic and using an ac delco oil filter as a cure. I haven't myself.
