2003 Pontiac Grand Am Ignition Switch

My key will not turn in the ignition, it is an in dash ignition. The steering wheel is not locked. We have checked the fuses and they are ok. The parts store sells the tumblers but i can not figure out how to get them out is there a way to do this or do I need a special tool or something?

do you have the ignition out and apart?I use a small pick to get them out,but sometimes they get stuck and never come out.no special tools needed. need more info.
