I have a 2002 Pontiac Grand Am with 115000 miles. The timing chain broke, well after removing the old one and putting in the new one. It still won't start. It tries to turn over and start but it just sputters and sound like it wants to backfire. I'm all out of ideas. What could it be?

you need to do a compression test you might have bent valves. good luck with that one.
