2002 Pontiac Grand Am 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive automatic

i have a 2002 pontiac grand am and have had it for about 4 weeks... just today for some reason there is an excessive amount of oil leaking out from the bottom and i cant figure out why. i stoped at a store on my way home from work and checked it and saw that it was low so i bought two quarts, put one in, and was gonna save one for later. i went inside for about 5 minutes and went to leave and saw a puddle of oil on the ground where i just was. i got out and checked to see if it was mine, and it and it looked fresh, like the oil i just put in... i looked under the car and the bottom of the engine was almost covered with oil... do you know what it could possibly be?

Most likely a seal has ruptured, front or rear main are possibilities. Valve cover, loose oil filter, loose pan bolt, oil pan etc.

You will have to get car off ground amd visually inspect it. You can put a dye in the oil to isolate it, but leaking as fast as it is, it will probably be obvious.
