last night i smelled a burning smell while driving. i pulled over and checked it out and the larger bolt where the black wire connects on my starter was glowing orange. i checked it out this morning and it seems like the nut had gotten loose as i can now move the wire boot about a millimeter or two left or right on the bolt. i just last week had to replace my alternator and battery. is this loose connection the culprit or do you think a wire is grounding out somewhere else, or do you think the starter is bad?
