2002 Pontiac Grand Am dash gauges cut out

my dash gauges cut in and out. (speedo, tach, fuel, etc.) When they don't work, and you tap on the fuse panel, they start working again, but don't stay working.

Either a loose connection or the dimmer switch is bad.
